Spectacular Outdoor Kitchens and Bars for Entertaining

One of the favourite activities the Okanagan climate allows us is to enjoy entertaining outdoors. Sitting outside on our patio overlooking Gallatley Bay on Okanagan Lake and the mountains across the lake with a cool drink close at hand is a favourite pastime for Nancy and me. We have big plans for redoing our deck as soon as we get finished on the inside of the house, but in the meantime, we can still use the one we have and plan for the new one.

If you are planning to design an outdoor kitchen for entertaining family and friends, there are plenty of styles and options that can work in your space. Whether you select a small kitchen area or a more spacious one, you need to consider your needs. Are you going to be doing your prep work indoors or out? It would save space to do it inside, but if you prefer convenience, you may wish to have a larger counter space integrated outside.

If you do a lot of entertaining, you may need a full-service operation. This would include things such as a grill, pizza oven, refrigerator, sink, cabinetry for storage, maybe even a dishwasher or wine chiller. Your outdoor kitchen should be ideally located in close proximity to lounging and eating areas. A bar top will allow guests to sit and chat while you prepare food and cook. Guests usually like to be near the cook, with a bar top they can watch the action while remaining clear of the kitchen space.

This blog post showcases 24 different outdoor kitchen and bar examples. Some are fairly simple and easy to accomplish and others, like the feature image, come with a steep budget. Take a little time and enjoy!
